Employment Outlook
The employment of medical assistants is projected to grow 18%* from 2020 to 2030, much faster than the average for all occupations. About 140,000 openings for medical assistants are projected each year, on average, over the decades. Many of these openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who have changed careers or exited due to retirement.
Once you earn your Arizona Medical Assistant certification, you’ll be qualified to work in any medical office as a front or back office assistant including within specialty practices such as physician offices, chiropractic offices, hospitals, optometrists, and outpatient care centers.
